had a great time w/ shannon
i really enjoyed my evening with shannon in lexington. first, i had dinner w/ shannon and bob - bob's baked ziti was great, as was the company. after the meal shannon and i walked downtown to the 5k race. the midsummer night's run was a *blast.* lots of folks doing this race - lots. our times were a bit slow (proly 31+ min), but it was really an enjoyable run. seemed like the whole town was either running or on the sidelines cheering.
finally, after a leisurely walk home, we got cleaned up and went to sonic for a smoothie. just sat around and talked - mostly about books and shannon's upcoming first year as a freshman english teacher. it was relaxing and enjoyable.
oh, and i got to drive my good 'ole escort back home with me! now that i've dropped off shannon's focus (after about 500 USD in repairs and adjustments), it's good to have my 1999 escort again. it's got some dents and dings; it's a bit faded on the outside and kinda funky on the inside - but i love it anyway. drove the whole way home with the window down at 70 MPH. just felt grand!
