chappell sez REST vs WS- war is over
david chappell (blog) posted an item that basically sez the REST vs. WS-* debate is over since .NET and Java platforms are incorporating more REST-like support in their tool sets. i'm not at all convinced.
imho, the very act of adding REST-like support to these environments will only server to heat up the discussion, not cool it off. primarily because i suspect a lot of folks without the full REST experience will start dabbling w/ the new tools. the result will be malformed REST code being passed off as the real thing. cascading into difficult to use/maintain, poorly performing examples that will become fule for straw man arguments *against* REST implementations.
no, the war is not over - it's just starting.
