i've been struggling to get JSDoc to behave the way i like and have not bee totally successful. in the search for a 'better-than-jsdoc' tool, i've stumbled upon Natural Docs. very nice! i like that it uses very simple *plain word* patterns for marking documentation. i also like the approach of offering 'full' and 'basic' language support. i was able to get it up and running without problems (via ActivePerl) and had my first sample javascript class documented in just minutes. sweet!
